Your journey toward medical school starts here.
Concordia has an outstanding reputation for excellence in preparing students for careers in a variety of health professions. We offer career changers, with a degree from a U.S. accredited institution, the opportunity to complete all of the required science prerequisite courses needed for med school. Our experienced faculty will partner with you and prepare you to become a competitive applicant for your chosen professional health program through rigorous coursework customized to meet your goals.
A Pathway for Career Changers.
Our program is for career changers taking all prerequisite coursework for the first time in preparation for standardized tests and application to medical and other professional health programs. Students have earned a bachelor's degree from an accredited U.S. institution in a major and/or minor outside the sciences with an undergraduate GPA of 3.2 or greater. Additionally, students may have professional experience outside the field of medicine and have developed the passion and determination to pursue a career in medicine or another healthcare specialty.

I strongly recommend Concordia College’s post-baccalaureate premedical program. I found this program rigorous and relevant, as it prepared me with the biology, chemistry, and physics content I will need to succeed in medical school. Every professor I took classes from was excellent and eager to help me learn. The content I learned helped me prepare for my MCAT examination. All of the courses I took in this program contained a lab section, which I found increased my interest in the material and reinforced the concepts I was learning. The highlight of the program for me was both semesters of organic chemistry, which were challenging but filled with interesting and useful content. I appreciate the help and advice that Dr. Rutherford, the program director, has provided me about my future plans after I finished the program.
